Pride weekend

Whenever our anniversary falls on a weekend, it's always Pride weekend. This always makes my anniversary bittersweet.

I so look forward to the day that I can celebrate with no mixed feelings, and so can my gay friends and relations. And I am so sad that the Obama administration filed a brief supporting the Defense of Marriage Act (now there's an Orwellian moniker; it's actually the Attack on Marriage Act).

Stay proud, my gorgeous GLBT people. It's only a matter of time. And, of course, a long fight.

The admin is still full of Bushies. Even so, Obama could reverse them if he were willing to spend some favors-owed (aka "political capital"). I'm hoping, but not really believing, that he's hoarding the "political capital" for doing proper health care reform. We'll see, anyway.

I have memories of Pride Weekend, as your anniversary coincides with my Mother's as well as her birthday. On her 70th bd, my big bro came to visit, and we decided to go to the sculpture garden. Pride was across the street, and my brother decided to go try to recruit Perot voters. :-D Gotta love him!

ION I thought you might want to know that the MMR debate is playing out on Channel 11 via one of their cop shows.
